Restoring Ownership
Land claims are fundamental to recognising Aboriginal rights and restoring ownership of traditional lands. Wamba Wamba LALC provides comprehensive support for lodging and managing Aboriginal land claims in accordance with relevant legislation. Our role is to advocate for the return of Crown land that is no longer required for public purposes, enabling communities to regain control of culturally significant areas.
We assist Traditional Owners and community members throughout the entire claims process, including identifying claimable land, conducting historical and cultural research, preparing documentation, and liaising with government agencies. Consultation with Elders ensures that cultural authority is respected and that evidence accurately reflects traditional connections to Country.
Guidance & Administrative Support
Land claims can be complex and time-consuming. Our experienced team provides guidance, advocacy, and administrative support to help navigate legal requirements and ensure claims are submitted correctly. We also work to keep community members informed about progress and outcomes.
Opportunities & Self-Determination
Each claim represents deep historical and cultural significance. Our organisation approaches this work with sensitivity, professionalism, and respect, recognising the importance of land to identity and wellbeing. Through effective advocacy and responsible management, we aim to ensure that land rights deliver lasting benefits for present and future generations while safeguarding Country.
